Based off of the Red Ryder comic strip, the Red Ryder BB gun takes inspiration from the gun models in the Western era, specifically the Winchester rifle found in many Western movies. The Red Ryder, which was introduced in 1940, is by far the most popular model. Daisy is best known for their youth BB guns which are modeled after lever-action rifles. The 96 was bigger but never seemed to shoot any harder or more accurately than the 102.ĭoes anyone out there know of some one who does this sort of repair.īill you are handy you can probably get them going yourself and have a good time doing it. I was given the 96 for a birthday or Christmas as I recall.

I shot hundreds maybe thousands of BBs through the 102 and wanted a BB gun with more power. I would like to get them both fixed up so I can shoot them once again. The 102 (Similar to the Buck of today) needs total restoration as it has been repainted etc.

The 96 needs mechancial work so it will shot again. I have a model 96 daisy and a Daisy Heddon 102 from my youth in the 1970s.
